Constitutive Congress of the National Organization of Constitutional Health Professionals Held in Casablanca

By حزب الاتحاد الدستوريDec 30, 20242 min read

The Constitutive Congress of the National Organization of Constitutional Health Professionals convened on Sunday, December 29, 2024, in Casablanca under the theme “Contributing to a New Vision for the Healthcare Sector.” The landmark event was chaired by Mr. Mohamed Joudar, Secretary-General of the Constitutional Union (UC) party, alongside members of the Political Bureau.

The conference drew broad participation from healthcare practitioners across multiple disciplines—including physicians, nurses, technicians, administrators, and medical professors—representing various prefectures and provinces across the Kingdom.

A Strategic Milestone for Sector-Specific Party Structures

In his opening remarks, Mr. Mohamed Joudar highlighted the congress as a historic moment designed to bolster sector-specific organization within the party. He stressed that establishing specialized bodies enables the UC to stay closely connected to citizens' needs in health and social protection, aligning with the party’s broader strategy to build impactful structures across key national sectors.

Tribute to Healthcare Workers and Support for Social Protection Reforms

The Secretary-General paid tribute to healthcare workers for their dedication and frontline sacrifices during the COVID-19 pandemic, stating: “They were soldiers in the fight to protect lives, exposing themselves to constant risk while remaining resilient. We owe them immense gratitude.”

Turning to the universal health coverage initiative, Mr. Joudar identified healthcare professionals as the driving engine behind successful social reforms, emphasizing that the project's success hinges on their commitment.

He called on party health professionals to make the organization a benchmark for sector-based political engagement, acting as a bridge between frontline workers and national healthcare institutions. He urged them to keep high-quality patient care and public service at the core of their mission, citing healthcare as one of the noblest professions.

Dr. El Mehdi Rayadh Elected President

According to the organization’s founding charter, this new framework aligns with major national health reforms executed under High Royal Directives, particularly the universalization of basic health insurance. The organization aims to analyze systemic health challenges in Morocco and draft solutions tailored to the country’s socio-economic realities.

The congress concluded with the unanimous election of Dr. El Mehdi Rayadh as President of the National Organization of Constitutional Health Professionals, alongside the endorsement of its national executive bureau membership.
