At the invitation of Fatima-Zahra Mansouri, the prime minister-designate tasked with forming the new government, Mohamed Joudar, Secretary-General of the Constitutional Union Party, visited the headquarters of the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) in Rabat, leading a delegation of party leaders to participate in consultations on forming the next government.
Speaking to the press after the meeting, Joudar stated that the Constitutional Union Party delegation’s visit to PAM headquarters was part of the consultations being conducted by Prime Minister-designate Fatima-Zahra Mansouri with all parties represented in Parliament.
He explained that the meeting first provided an opportunity to congratulate Mansouri on the Authenticity and Modernity Party’s first-place finish in the elections, both in terms of seats and votes. He added that the party’s lead in parliamentary seats was followed by her appointment by His Majesty King Mohammed VI as head of government and her mandate to form the next government.
Joudar added that the meeting allowed him to congratulate Mansouri in person, having previously congratulated her by telephone. He emphasized that she was the first woman to head the government in Morocco and that this royal choice “demonstrates the special attention given to women in society.”
He continued by explaining that the meeting addressed several key issues affecting all Moroccans, which, in his view, should feature prominently in the updated government programme. These include employment, particularly for young people, purchasing power, education, and healthcare, which he described as “four fundamental priorities.”
In this regard, Joudar stressed the need to pursue, in line with the royal speech, the vision of “a Morocco moving at one pace,” where territorial equity and social justice are achieved.
He noted that these initiatives would proceed alongside major projects related to Morocco’s hosting of the 2030 FIFA World Cup. Work has already begun in several areas, including railways, airports, stadiums, and hotels.
The Secretary-General of the Constitutional Union Party considered this period an opportunity for Morocco to continue its progress and prosperity over the next five years. He explained that the country would need to combine social priorities with international success, both in terms of enhancing the Kingdom’s global standing and attracting investment.
At the end of his statement, Joudar confirmed that consultations on forming the government would continue. His delegation included Hassan Abiaba, Deputy Secretary-General of the Constitutional Union Party, and Chaoui Belassal, a member of the party’s political bureau.
The Authenticity and Modernity Party committee leading the consultations included Fatima-Zahra Mansouri, Abdellatif Ouahbi, Ahmed Akhchichine, and Fouzi Lekjaa, all members of the party’s political bureau.
