Ben M'sik Tbourida Festival: A cultural heritage celebrating the anniversary of the Crown Prince's birth.

By حزب الاتحاد الدستوريApr 29, 20192 min read

The traditional Tbourida festival in the Ben M'sik area of Casablanca attracts hundreds of families from various regions to enjoy the artistic displays of Tbourida. This year's festival is organized in conjunction with the celebration of the Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan's birthday.

This folkloric fantasia festival is a cultural heritage passed down through generations, serving as an annual tradition featuring Tbourida troupes from different Moroccan cities and regions. It is distinguished by its wonderful rituals and atmosphere, which draw hundreds of enthusiasts of this rich Moroccan cultural heritage.

Regarding this event, Mohamed Jouddar, President of the Ben M'sik district, emphasized in a statement to Hiba Press the importance of the event, which coincides with the celebrations of the Crown Prince's birthday. The event's activities varied between Tbourida, sports, and purposeful charitable work. A football tournament was organized for students under 16 across educational institutions, alongside sports teams from local associations comprising children of the same age, in honor of the precious anniversary of Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan's birth.

Jouddar added that this year's Ben M'sik festival featured a mass circumcision ceremony for 280 children from disadvantaged families. He noted that the organizing committee decided to extend the festival's duration until May 8, coinciding with the birthday of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, reviving the overwhelming joy experienced by the Moroccan people on May 8, 2003, when the Royal Palace was blessed with the birth of the Crown Prince, whom His Majesty King Mohammed VI named Moulay El Hassan.

Finally, Mohamed Jouddar expressed his sincere gratitude to all actors, partners, regional authorities, the Royal Gendarmerie, local authorities, civil protection, and elected bodies, noting that this initiative will help promote the region, attract tourists, and effectively contribute to boosting the local economy.

On September 7 in Casablanca, the Constitutional Union (UC) launched its platform for the 2026 legislative elections, prioritizing job creation, purchasing power, and productive growth under the commitment "A Productive Economy, More Job Opportunities, and Stronger Purchasing Power." Key Challenges Addressed: Secretary-General Mohamed Joudar highlighted that ~2.9 million Moroccan youth are currently not in employment, education, or training (NEETs), alongside inflation pressures and market intermediaries driving up living costs. Core Proposals: Align vocational training with market demands and support first-job access for youth. Improve the business climate, expand financing for SMEs/startups, and combat monopolies and rent-seeking. Strengthen market competition and supply chain transparency to curb inflation rather than relying solely on temporary price fixes. Combine private initiative with strategic state oversight to ensure growth benefits all social classes and regions.
