Revision of General Electoral Roll: Submission of New Registrations and Transfer Requests from June 2 to July 1 Next.

By حزب الاتحاد الدستوريJun 1, 20212 min read

According to a press release from the Minister of the Interior regarding the revision of general voter rolls in preparation for upcoming general elections, the period for submitting new registration and transfer requests will run from June 2 to July 1.

The statement explained that as part of preparations for the general elections of members of the House of Representatives, regional councils, and communal/district councils scheduled for September 8, 2021, the Minister informs citizens that a decree setting the deadlines and dates for the voter roll revision was published in the Official Gazette on Monday, May 17, 2021.

Pursuant to this decree, the 30-day period designated for submitting new registration and transfer requests will begin on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, and conclude on Thursday, July 1, 2021.

During this period, male and female citizens—particularly young people—who are not currently registered, are at least 18 solar years old or will reach that age by the election date on September 8, 2021, and face no legal disqualifications, are invited to submit their applications either directly at local administrative authority offices or via the website: www.listeselectorales.ma.

The Minister of the Interior also reminded registered voters who have relocated to submit, within the same timeframe (June 2 to July 1, 2021), requests to transfer their registration to the voter list of their new commune or district.

Similarly, voters who have changed their address within the same commune or district must notify the local administrative authority of their new residence to update their address on the relevant electoral list.

Administrative committees will meet between July 2 and July 8, 2021, to review new registration and transfer applications, render necessary decisions, correct clerical errors in current lists, and carry out lawful removals.

To allow voters to view the committee decisions, updated tables will be displayed at local administrative offices and communal/district service centers from July 9 to July 15, 2021.

During this timeframe, any individual whose application for registration or transfer was rejected, or whose name was removed from the voter roll, may appeal the committee's decision before the competent court, which must rule within a maximum of five days from the filing date.

The release concluded that the final general voter rolls for each commune or district will be officially finalized on July 30, 2021.

The Constitutional Union places employment and purchasing power at the heart of its electoral platform.

On September 7 in Casablanca, the Constitutional Union (UC) launched its platform for the 2026 legislative elections, prioritizing job creation, purchasing power, and productive growth under the commitment "A Productive Economy, More Job Opportunities, and Stronger Purchasing Power." Key Challenges Addressed: Secretary-General Mohamed Joudar highlighted that ~2.9 million Moroccan youth are currently not in employment, education, or training (NEETs), alongside inflation pressures and market intermediaries driving up living costs. Core Proposals: Align vocational training with market demands and support first-job access for youth. Improve the business climate, expand financing for SMEs/startups, and combat monopolies and rent-seeking. Strengthen market competition and supply chain transparency to curb inflation rather than relying solely on temporary price fixes. Combine private initiative with strategic state oversight to ensure growth benefits all social classes and regions.
