Mohamed Sajid, Secretary General of the Constitutional Union party, chaired an outreach meeting last Saturday, February 19, at a city hotel, with the party's male and female activists in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region, under the slogan: "The Repercussions of the Stage and the Party's Future Horizons: What Strategy?"
The meeting was organized by the party's regional coordinator, Mr. Mohamed El Aamrani, who is a Member of Parliament and a member of the party's Political Bureau.
In his speech on the occasion, Mr. Mohamed Sajid emphasized that the party is fully prepared to contest the upcoming electoral events alongside the men, women, and youth of the party across all provinces of the Kingdom's northern region. At the same time, he praised the results achieved by the party in the recent elections, both at the municipal and parliamentary levels in the region. He stressed that these results, despite their importance, do not necessarily represent the true strength the party enjoys within the region, and that the party will make its voice heard in the upcoming elections by achieving advanced outcomes. He called for working to expand the base in both urban and rural areas, leveraging the good reputation that the party's officials and elected members enjoy among citizens, whether at the regional level, the prefectural council, the Tangier city council, or the districts and rural communes.
During the same address, the Secretary General also commended the efforts of Mr. Mohamed El Aamrani and his dedication to serving the interests of the homeland, the citizen, and the party, having borne responsibility with dedication, sincerity, and honesty for nearly 32 years.
For his part, Mr. Mohamed El Aamrani, the party's regional coordinator, stressed the need for the party's strong presence at all levels and fronts—locally, provincially, and regionally—and engagement in renewing and strengthening the party's structures and parallel organizations, foremost among them women and youth, in preparation for entering the fray of upcoming elections. This requires elected officials to fully assume their responsibilities in this regard, maintain a permanent presence on the ground, communicate continuously with the local population, closely share their concerns and preoccupations, and contribute to the development of the territorial areas where they hold office as elected representatives.
In the same context, Mr. El Aamrani announced that it has been decided to organize a regional conference for the party in the Tangier-Asilah prefecture towards the end of next February. He emphasized that this milestone falls within the framework of the party's new vision to restructure itself on solid foundations, a step that can be considered the foundational first stone in the right direction.
