Ahmed El Zamouri, coordinator of the Training and Public Relations Committee of the Constitutional Youth Organization, participated in the regional meeting hosted by the Jordanian capital, Amman, on Friday, May 30th last, initiated by the Arab Liberal Network (ALN), and supported by the Dutch People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD), the Swedish International Liberal Centre (SILC), and the German Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF).
This meeting brought together representatives of liberal political parties from various Arab countries to discuss issues of political and economic transition in the region, explore prospects for youth political participation, and enhance cooperation between Arab liberal parties and their European counterparts.
In a speech delivered on the occasion, El Zamouri presented an overview of the Constitutional Union party, highlighting its liberal reference framework and its contribution to the Moroccan political scene. He also contributed to the discussion of several themes concerning regional conflicts, Arab economic cooperation, the status of youth and women, alongside educational and economic reforms.
In this context, El Zamouri pointed out that Morocco constitutes a pioneering model in the region regarding youth empowerment and engagement in political life, through a deliberate policy embodied in supporting their participation within party bodies and elected institutions, and enabling them to access decision-making centers, in line with the High Royal Directives aimed at renewing elites and enhancing the representation of rising generations in managing public affairs.
He also affirmed that Morocco has accumulated significant achievements in promoting the status of women and enhancing their presence in various fields, thanks to the special care that His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God protect Him, continues to give to women's issues, which has materialized in a series of fundamental reforms, foremost among which is the Family Code (Moudawana), marking a pivotal milestone in the path of enshrining women's rights and advancing their legal and social status.
Regarding Arab economic cooperation, the representative of the Constitutional Youth considered that establishing a unified Arab market remains dependent on overcoming structural and developmental disparities between the countries of the region, noting that Morocco pursues an open policy based on gradual integration into the global economy, particularly through its advanced partnerships with the European Union, capitalizing on its strategic location and institutional stability.
El Zamouri also addressed a number of issues related to youth, including unemployment, brain drain, and education, as well as topics related to the liberal economic model, emphasizing that this strategic choice promotes free initiative, supports start-ups, and opens promising prospects for rising generations.
El Zamouri's participation in this meeting falls within the framework of the ongoing dynamic witnessed by the Constitutional Youth Organization, which aims to enhance its regional and international presence.
