The Constitutional Women's Organization holds its 4th congress

By حزب الاتحاد الدستوريMay 14, 20231 min read

Under the slogan "Women's political empowerment is a fundamental lever for development," the Fourth National Congress of the Constitutional Women's Organization was held, chaired by the Secretary General of the Constitutional Union party, on Saturday, May 13, 2023, in Casablanca.

In his speech, Mr. Mohamed Jouddar, the party's Secretary General, expressed his pride in the party's regional organizational dynamics. Following the great success achieved by the party's Sixth National Congress in October 2022 and the Third National Congress of the Youth Organization in March 2023, he emphasized that this dynamic stems from a firm conviction regarding the necessity of renewing the party's ranks locally, regionally, and provincially.

Jouddar affirmed, "We are convinced that women are the primary lever for development and progress; therefore, from whatever position our party holds, we will work hard to enhance the role of women and empower them economically, socially, and politically."

Sister Najat El Simo was elected General Secretary of the Constitutional Women's Organization by the unanimous vote of the female delegates, alongside the election of the organization's national bureau.

The final statement of the congress emphasized that the event comes "within the framework of the party's new organizational strategy, which was launched immediately after the Sixth National Congress of the Constitutional Union held on October 1 and 2, 2022—which witnessed active participation and contribution by the party's women from various regions and provinces of the Kingdom—as well as the Third National Congress of the Constitutional Youth Organization, which gave women a very advanced standing in decision-making positions."

On September 7 in Casablanca, the Constitutional Union (UC) launched its platform for the 2026 legislative elections, prioritizing job creation, purchasing power, and productive growth under the commitment "A Productive Economy, More Job Opportunities, and Stronger Purchasing Power." Key Challenges Addressed: Secretary-General Mohamed Joudar highlighted that ~2.9 million Moroccan youth are currently not in employment, education, or training (NEETs), alongside inflation pressures and market intermediaries driving up living costs. Core Proposals: Align vocational training with market demands and support first-job access for youth. Improve the business climate, expand financing for SMEs/startups, and combat monopolies and rent-seeking. Strengthen market competition and supply chain transparency to curb inflation rather than relying solely on temporary price fixes. Combine private initiative with strategic state oversight to ensure growth benefits all social classes and regions.
