Statement of the Political Bureau of the Constitutional Union Party

By حزب الاتحاد الدستوريOct 3, 20262 min read

The Political Bureau of the Constitutional Union Party, in the presence of the party’s parliamentarians, held a meeting in Rabat on Friday, October 9, 2026, immediately following the solemn speech delivered by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, on the occasion of the opening of the first session of the first legislative year of the twelfth legislative term.

After reviewing the contents of the Royal Speech and examining the guidance it provided for shaping the next phase, the Political Bureau expressed its profound pride in and appreciation for the far-sighted royal vision set out in the speech. This vision emphasizes the importance of continuing the path of development and reform while achieving a balance between economic growth and strengthening social and territorial justice.

The Political Bureau also welcomed the profound national messages conveyed by the Royal Speech, particularly His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s unwavering pride in his Moroccan identity, a deep sense of patriotism that, as the King emphasized, grows stronger and more firmly rooted with the passing years. The party respectfully recalls the King’s emphasis on the historical depth of the Moroccan nation, the deep roots of the monarchy in its glorious history, the authenticity of Moroccan religious identity under the leadership of the Commander of the Faithful, and the richness of the country’s civilizational identity through its diverse components. These enduring foundations underpin national unity and embody the historic bond between the Glorious Alaouite Throne and the Moroccan people.

The party commends the Royal Directives calling for the continuation of the Kingdom’s major strategic projects, strengthening the private sector’s role in investment and job creation, giving due attention to young people’s concerns, accelerating the implementation of advanced regionalization and administrative deconcentration, improving the quality of public services, and addressing citizens’ everyday concerns.

In light of the challenges facing the next phase and the need for national mobilization and responsible engagement in supporting the major projects and reforms led by His Majesty the King, and taking into account the convergence between the electoral programmes of the Constitutional Union Party and the Authenticity and Modernity Party, the Political Bureau of the Constitutional Union Party decided to adopt a position of critical support for the forthcoming government, while maintaining the independence of its political decision-making.

The party renews its commitment to continuing its work in its political and institutional capacity, serving the nation’s supreme interests and contributing to the success of major projects and reforms. It reaffirms that the national interest and the defense of citizens’ interests will remain at the heart of its political positions and choices.

Issued in Rabat, October 9, 2026.
