The Casablanca Prefectural Council held its regular session on the morning of Monday, June 12, 2017, at the headquarters of the Wilaya of the Casablanca-Settat region. During this session, Abdelaziz Nasser of the Constitutional Union party was elected 5th Vice President of the Casablanca Prefectural Council, succeeding the late Bouchta El Jamai of the Istiqlal Party, who passed away months ago.

Both Abdelaziz Nasser and Houcine Nasrallah of the Istiqlal Party ran for the position. The election was conducted in two rounds. After counting the ballots in the first round, candidate Abdelaziz Nasser received 15 votes, while candidate Nasrallah received 1 vote. A decisive second round was called, as neither candidate achieved an absolute majority (50% + 1).

Following the second round of voting, the Constitutional Union ("Horse" party) candidate Abdelaziz Nasser secured 17 votes, compared to 1 vote for the Istiqlal ("Scale" party) candidate Houcine Nasrallah.

Consequently, Abdelaziz Nasser was declared the 5th Vice President of the Casablanca Prefectural Council.
