His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, supervised on Monday in the new city of Errahma, in the commune of Dar Bouazza (Casablanca), the inauguration of the Proximity Medical Center - Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, built with a total investment of 73 million dirhams.
On this occasion, His Majesty the King visited the various facilities of this solidarity project, which reflects His Majesty's commitment to improving the quality of health services provided to citizens, enhancing the healthcare offer for populations in vulnerable situations, and ensuring comprehensive, sustainable, and integrated human development.
The realization of this center is in line with the efforts made by His Majesty the King, aimed at promoting access for underprivileged people to basic, quality proximity health services, and ensuring regular and periodic medical follow-up for people whose health condition requires specialized consultations.
This center, which will operate 24/7 and benefit 60,000 people per year, will alleviate the pressure on existing hospital facilities in the region, as well as spare some underprivileged individuals the burden of long journeys that strain them and their families with additional costs.
The Proximity Medical Center - Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, which serves as an intermediary facility between the network of primary medical care establishments (levels 1 and 2) and the hospital network, will benefit a population of nearly 300,000 people from the new city of Errahma and neighboring areas, thereby ensuring greater complementarity in the healthcare supply at the regional level.
Thus, the new center includes a proximity medical emergency pole with emergency doctors on duty, particularly in the trauma, consultation, treatment, observation, and plaster rooms.
It also houses a specialized consultation unit (cardiology, ENT, gastroenterology, pediatrics, gynecology, and ophthalmology), an orthopedics and functional rehabilitation unit, and a medico-technical pole with an operating block (a general surgery room and a cesarean section room), and a recovery room.
The Proximity Medical Center - Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity in the new city of Errahma also contains a mother and child health pole housing a technical delivery unit (4 delivery rooms and a newborn care room), as well as consultation, vaccination, and ultrasound rooms.
The center, which is equipped with the latest technology, also includes a dental care unit, a medical imaging unit (radiology, mammography, ultrasound, and panoramic imaging), a medical analysis laboratory, a sterilization unit, a hospitalization unit (13 double rooms), a pharmacy, an awareness room, a kitchen, and a morgue. The new hospital facility is provided with an ambulance to ensure the medical transport of patients.
Similar to the centers inaugurated by His Majesty the King in the Youssoufia neighborhood of Rabat and Sidi Moumen in Casablanca, and the centers in Temara and Tangier (Beni Makada district), which began providing services in 2022, the Proximity Medical Center - Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity in the new city of Errahma is part of a comprehensive program implemented by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, aimed at supporting the national health sector.
This program also aims to strengthen the available healthcare offer, establish a proximity care sector accessible to the population, and integrate a complementary social approach into patient support mechanisms. It involves the construction of 12 proximity medical centers across the Kingdom. These include specifically 3 centers in Casablanca (Sidi Moumen, Hay Hassani, and the new city of Errahma), 2 in Fez, 2 in Tangier, and one center in each of the cities of Agadir, Marrakech, Rabat, Salé, and Temara.
This project, which is the result of a partnership between the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, the Regional Council of Casablanca-Settat, and the Provincial Council of Nouaceur, comes to contribute to strengthening the various initiatives implemented by the Foundation in the medical and humanitarian fields, thus embodying the multidimensional and diversified commitment of the Foundation to the prosperity and well-being of disadvantaged populations.
