Mhadab demands Doukkali guarantee the right to healthcare and medical treatment for residents of rural communes in El Jadida.

The Message of the Nation
Abdelhaq Mhadab, a member of the Constitutional Gathering group in the House of Representatives, leveled harsh criticism at Minister of Health Anas Doukkali regarding the deteriorating health situation in several rural communes within the jurisdiction of El Jadida province.

Addressing the Minister of Health during the oral questions session at the House of Representatives on Monday, Mhadab stated: "The health sector continues to suffer from numerous problems, most notably a severe shortage of personnel and public hospitals. This prompted us to consider a partnership agreement to build a local hospital in the Sidi Smail commune, aimed at expanding access to health services and guaranteeing the right to treatment for over 100,000 inhabitants across the communes of Sidi Smail, Mogress, Sebt Sais, Zaouiat Sais, and Oulad Aissa."

While the government official stated that the objective of this agreement was to "strengthen healthcare delivery and ease the burden on hospital centers," the Constitutional Gathering MP questioned "why its provisions have not been activated since 2014, despite the mentioned communes providing the real estate property and financial contributions?"

Mhadab called on the Minister of Health to honor his ministry's contractual commitments with the aforementioned communes and to expedite the implementation of the agreement's terms in service of its population, who are still "waiting for their opportunity and constitutional right to medical care and treatment," according to the MP.
