His Majesty King Mohammed VI stated, on Saturday, that seriousness is manifested when it comes to the issue of the Kingdom's territorial integrity, "and this seriousness and legitimacy are what yielded the succession of recognitions of Morocco's sovereignty over its southern provinces."
In this context, His Majesty the King noted, in his speech addressed to the Nation on the occasion of the 24th anniversary of His Majesty's accession to the throne of his glorious ancestors, the recent recognition by the State of Israel of Morocco's sovereignty over its Sahara.
His Majesty highlighted that the approach of seriousness enabled, in addition to the opening of consulates in Laayoune and Dakhla, the mobilization of growing support for the Moroccan Autonomy Initiative.
His Majesty added, "With the same seriousness and firmness, we reaffirm Morocco's unwavering position regarding the justness of the Palestinian cause, and the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people to establish their independent state, with East Jerusalem as its capital; ensuring security and stability for all peoples of the region."
His Majesty King Mohammed VI stated that Morocco is entering a new phase focused on strengthening national sovereignty, supporting economic recovery, and implementing the New Development Model. He also called on the government and Parliament to fully assume their responsibilities.
The United Nations praised His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s forward-looking vision for future generations, highlighting the importance of collective action to build a human-centered and sustainable development model. It also noted that this vision has become even more relevant in light of the challenges exposed by the Covid-19 pandemic, particularly social inequalities and the spread of misinformation.
The Council of the League of Arab States praised the efforts of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, to protect Al-Quds Al-Sharif and support the resilience of the Palestinian people. It also highlighted the fieldwork of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency in preserving the city’s Arab and Islamic identity.
