His Majesty King Mohammed VI called, on Saturday, for the creation of a special mechanism tasked with accompanying Moroccan competences and talents abroad, and supporting their initiatives and projects, emphasizing the need to establish a permanent structural relationship with Moroccan competences abroad, including Moroccan Jews.
His Majesty the King stressed in a speech addressed to the Nation on the occasion of the 69th anniversary of the Revolution of the King and the People that this mechanism will make it possible to identify Moroccan competences and talents abroad, and to "communicate with them continuously, and to inform them of their country's potential, including the dynamics of development and investment."
In this regard, His Majesty the King renewed the call for Moroccan youth and project holders residing abroad to benefit from the abundant investment opportunities in their homeland, and from the incentives and guarantees offered by the new Investment Charter.
To this end, His Majesty called on public institutions and the national financial and business sector to open up to investors from the community, by adopting effective mechanisms for incubation, support, and partnership, in a way that benefits everyone.
Given the renewed aspirations of Moroccans of the world, His Majesty called for modernizing and upgrading the institutional framework dedicated to this category of citizens, and reconsidering the governance model of existing institutions to enhance their efficiency and complementarity.
After recalling the special attention His Majesty pays to involving the diaspora in the development process, His Majesty the King affirmed that Morocco "needs today all its children, and all the competences and expertise residing abroad, whether through working and settling in Morocco, or through various types of partnerships, and contributing from their countries of residence."
His Majesty highlighted in his speech that the Moroccan diaspora abroad is known for having world-class competences in various fields—scientific, economic, political, cultural, sports, and others—stressing that "this is a source of pride for Morocco and all Moroccans."
After highlighting the significant efforts made by the State to ensure a proper welcome for Moroccans of the world, His Majesty the King considered that this "is not enough."
In this regard, His Majesty the King stated, "Many of them, unfortunately, still face numerous hurdles and difficulties in completing their administrative procedures or launching their projects. This must be addressed," noting that the time has come to provide them "with the necessary support, as well as the conditions and means to give their best for the benefit of the country and its development."
His Majesty pointed out that Morocco has a diaspora estimated at about five million, in addition to hundreds of thousands of Moroccan Jews abroad all over the world. His Majesty explained that Moroccans of the world constitute an exceptional case in this regard, given their strong connection to the homeland, their attachment to its sacred values, and their eagerness to serve its supreme interests, despite the problems and difficulties they face.
Finally, His Majesty the King commended the members of the Moroccan community residing abroad, who make every effort to defend the territorial integrity from the various platforms and positions they occupy.
