His Majesty King Mohammed VI sent a message of congratulations to the members of the Moroccan national football team on the occasion of their unprecedented historic achievement in the Qatar 2022 World Cup competitions.
The message stated: "We have followed with great joy and delight your brilliant path in the 2022 FIFA World Cup competitions in the brotherly State of Qatar, where you succeeded, with merit and rightful entitlement, in reaching the semi-finals, in the first and most resplendent achievement of its kind for Moroccan, Arab, and African football in the finals of this global sporting event."
On this occasion, His Majesty the King said: "As We congratulate you on this unprecedented historic achievement, We express to you Our profound thanks and deep pride in what you have accomplished during this great football gathering, through an exceptional performance and outstanding discipline that reflect your high professionalism, strong competitiveness, sincere patriotism, and the noble human values you embody. This also reflects the spirit of challenge and your determination to exert maximum effort to raise the banner of Moroccan football on the global stage, and to represent African and Arab football in the best possible way; a burning determination fueled by the cheers and support of the passionate Moroccan fans who relentlessly stood by you with overwhelming enthusiasm, chants, and a celebratory spirit filled with feelings of love and devotion for the homeland's flag."
His Majesty added in this message: "As much as you have brought happiness to the Moroccan people and to various brotherly and friendly fans, especially Arab and African ones, who followed your dazzling achievement with love, pride, and admiration, you have rightfully proven to the world your high caliber and the unwavering strength of your resolve, stemming from the strength of your faith, your love for your country, and your attachment to your eternal motto: 'God, the Country, the King'."
His Majesty the King continued: "While We renew Our highest praise and warm congratulations to you—players, coach, technical and medical staff, as well as the executives and officials of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation—We pray to God to protect you and to inspire you with further success and rightness to continue moving forward with the same determination, commitment, and competitive spirit, and to achieve further bright and honorable milestones for Moroccan football in upcoming continental and international sporting events, to continue bringing joy to the broad Moroccan fans who take pride in your achievement and support you inside the country and abroad."
His Majesty the King also expressed to the members of the Moroccan national team His wishes for their continued success and further brilliance, "encompassed by Our abiding affection and benevolence."
His Majesty King Mohammed VI stated that Morocco is entering a new phase focused on strengthening national sovereignty, supporting economic recovery, and implementing the New Development Model. He also called on the government and Parliament to fully assume their responsibilities.
The United Nations praised His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s forward-looking vision for future generations, highlighting the importance of collective action to build a human-centered and sustainable development model. It also noted that this vision has become even more relevant in light of the challenges exposed by the Covid-19 pandemic, particularly social inequalities and the spread of misinformation.
The Council of the League of Arab States praised the efforts of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, to protect Al-Quds Al-Sharif and support the resilience of the Palestinian people. It also highlighted the fieldwork of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency in preserving the city’s Arab and Islamic identity.
